Ethylene-propylene-diene monomer (EPDM) is a round O-ring cord stock that can be easily made into any size gasket or O-ring via vulcanizing the two ends together. It maintains flexibility at low temperatures, and this O-ring stock provides resistance to steam, salt solutions, acids, alkalis and oxygenated solvents while retaining its color. Silicone O-ring cord stock provides maximum application flexibility and is suited for dynamic and static applications due to its ability to compress and retain this ability at low temperatures.
In addition to water-based resistance, bulk O-ring material provides excellent resistance to ozone, water absorption, ultraviolet radiation (sunlight) and weather fluctuation. This rubber O-ring cord is available in 1/4", 3/8", 1/2" and 5/8" diameters and can be used in nearly any application that requires a tight seal, including in the automotive industry (doors, engine hoods or trunks) and maritime industry (hatch seals, window seals), as well as with HVAC systems, recreational vehicles (windows, doors or slides), windows and doors (including garage doors), screens or equipment enclosures. It can also be used as weatherstripping.
EPDM, Ethylene-Propylene-Diene-Monomer, is well known for its excellent ozone, weathering, and aging resistance. It also has excellent water and steam resistance, maintains its flexibility at low temperatures, features excellent resistance to alkalis, acids, and oxygenated solvents, and is very color stable. It is not recommended for resistance to oil, gasoline, and hydrocarbon solvents. EPDM is found in a wide range of applications and is excellent for use outdoors.
